ET '24 Technical Abstracts Available to View Online
Registration is Open; Early and Team Discounts Available
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and the ET Foundation have announced that the ET Seminar Committee, which oversees the development of the ET '24 technical program, has concluded its initial review of the submitted abstracts. The abstracts for possible paper presentations at ET '24 - the Thirteenth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar & Exposition, are now available on-line at ET24.us. ET '24 is scheduled for April 30 through May 2, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
"We received a fantastic response to our Call for Abstracts held earlier this year," said ET Seminar Chairman Jerome Fourmann, Senior Director, Technical Marketing - Metals & Minerals for Rio Tinto, based in Chicago, Illinois. "More than 200 abstracts were submitted and to date more than 175 abstracts have been accepted and those authors have been invited to submit a manuscript. We expect upwards of 125 technical papers to be presented at ET '24."
The Technical Sessions are the heart of the ET Seminar program. Sessions are divided into seven topic-specific tracks, which were expanded for ET '24. The tracks examine nearly every aspect of the aluminum extrusion process - from improved processes and new technologies, product and market developments and manufacturing research to sustainable practices, alloy research and best practices.
Technical tracks include Alloys & Billet Process, Extrusion Equipment, Extrusion & Die Process Application, Extrusion Finishes & Fabrication, Extrusion & Die R&D, Sustainability & Management, and the newest track, Extrusion Design & Innovation. The sessions will focus on areas where innovations are happening.
The new Extrusion Design & Innovation track highlights the solutions developed between extrusion end-users and extruders working together to create innovative and pioneering design applications. This unique "extruders and end-users" track offers an opportunity to showcase solutions designed as and often into products, context studies, streamlined design parameters, material substitution, and functionality case studies, which could be comparative studies, and more. "We have received several abstracts from end-users as well as extruders covering novel extrusion applications, component innovations and new applications. It is wonderful seeing the engagement and limitless design opportunities that aluminum extrusions have to offer," noted Fourmann.
ET '24 will appeal to end-users and product designers in markets supplied by aluminum extrusion. A significant effort is underway to make ET '24 the global technical platform of exchange between the users and makers of aluminum extrusion in the automotive and transportation, building and construction, HVAC and refrigeration, defense and aerospace, energy and electrical, sustainability and recycling, marine, and medical industries.
Complete technical abstracts submitted for possible presentation at ET '24 are now available to view on the website at ET24.us. However, it is important to note that publication of the abstracts on the website does not guarantee the authors' paper has been accepted for presentation at ET '24. Check back on the website regularly for updates to the program.
The ET Seminar typically attracts more than 1,200 delegates over a full week of programming, which includes the technical sessions, the ET Expo, networking events, in-conjunction training workshops, and more.
Registration is now open for ET '24, which will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. Premium, Early and Team registration discounts are available to help delegates make the most of their ET experience. The greatest savings are realized by using the Premium Discount, which is available through Saturday, December 23, 2023. Additional savings can be attained for companies sending five or more delegates to ET '24. "When combined with the Premium Discount, the Team Discount provides the greatest savings per person over the Standard Registration Fee, but the key is to act before the end of the year to take advantage of these great discounts," said Fourmann.
