Wauconda, Illinois - The ET Foundation has opened the Call for Nominations for the Maurice H. Roberts Award of Excellence to be presented at ET '24 - the Thirteenth International Aluminum Extrusion Technical Seminar & Exposition. The Maurice H. Roberts Award is the highest honor bestowed by the ET Seminar Committee to recognize an outstanding individual in the worldwide aluminum extrusion community who has made a significant impact.
The ET Foundation is seeking an aluminum extrusion industry professional who has demonstrated:
- Significant positive impact
- Record of freely sharing what they have learned so others may benefit
- Personal contributions and is metaphorically "not afraid to get their hands dirty"
- Expertise that benefits the aluminum extrusion industry (may or may not be technical)
- Leadership in the industry, inspiring others to follow, and is well known in the industry.
The ET Seminar Committee will review the list of nominations and decide on the best candidate in early 2024. The award will be bestowed to the deserving candidate at ET '24, scheduled for Wednesday, April 30 to May 2, 2024, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, Orlando, Florida.

Roberts Award include Chris Jowett, Rio Tinto (ET '22); Craig Werner, (formerly with) Kaiser Aluminum (ET '16); James Sanderson, Kaiser Aluminum (ET '12); Donn Sanford, Aluminum Extruders Council (ET 2000); Ivar Hafsett, Norsk Hydro (ET '96); Roy Fellom, Light Metal Age (ET '92); Robert I. Werner, Werner Co. and Chairman Emeritus of the ET Seminar Committee (ET '88); and Maurice H. Roberts, the namesake of this high honor, who was a pioneer in the aluminum extrusion industry and one of the founders of the International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminars.
