On April 8, 2024, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) released a Company-level Questionnaire for the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Intensities of the U.S. Steel and Aluminum Industries at the Product Level, Investigation Number 332-598.
This is the first step in the questionnaire process where the ITC is asking 5-10 questions in identifying the specific production facilities of the covered products and the contact person who will complete the Facility Survey. The list of covered products can be found HERE. In the aluminum category a covered facility is one that manufactures Unwrought Products (Not Alloyed, Alloyed), Bars, Rod, Profiles, Tubes and Pipes, Tubes and Pipe Fittings, etc. The due date for the company-level questionnaire is April 22, 2024.
Once the company-level questionnaire has been submitted the contact person for the specific production site will be provided with an e-mail with specific instructions to complete the facility-level questionnaire. This questionnaire must be completed online through the specific login for the facility. A copy of the facility-level questionnaire can be found HERE and the facility level questionnaire is due by June 8, 2024.
A review of the facility-level questionnaire is currently underway at the AEC. and a member webinar will be held to provide membership with information as to how to answer the facility-level questionnaire.
