Sunroof Structure

The 2016 Lincoln MKZ program team engineered an aluminum sunroof structure that achieved a 20% weight reduction and was cost-neutral with a 22-piece part count reduction from the incumbent design. Extruded side rails enable a number of features for window travel to sealing, with tight tolerances to perform through the life of the vehicle:
